Wildwood Casino opened the fourth retail sportsbook in Colorado this week, just in time for MLB sports betting.

Called “Woody’s Sportsbook,” the Cripple Creek casino joins Wildwood’s mobile betting platform at BetWildwood.com.

Wildwood Casino General Manager Matt Andrighetti said:

“We’re excited to welcome sports bettors to the premier of our sportsbook. It’s been a long wait getting to this day with the pandemic canceling sporting events, but we’ve made it.”

When you go to Woody’s Sportsbook

The retail sportsbook is within Woody’s Sports Bar and Grill.

It features two live ticket writers as well as betting kiosks. The kiosks are available 24 hours a day, while the ticket writers are open during the restaurant’s hours, 10 a.m.-10 p.m.

There also is a wall of TVs and a full bar and restaurant for patrons.

Since Wildwood Casino’s reopening June 15, the sportsbook and casino are operating under health and safety precautions.

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis issued a statewide mandate last week that all guests are required to wear masks while inside the casino and sportsbook.

Besides the social distance requirements and hand sanitizing stations, the Wildwood’s sportsbook chairs and slot machines include a button that alerts the clean team” to sanitize the gaming area.

The sportsbook software is run by Las Vegas-based ISI Race & Sports. ISI also operates Wildwood’s mobile betting platform.

“We are very excited about the opportunity to help bring sports betting to Colorado,” ISI President Bill Stearns said. “We’ve been doing this for more than 20 years and have developed best practices that help our partners get out of the gate early and maintain their lead in sports betting.”

Wildwood Casino amenities

Wildwood is the largest casino in Cripple Creek with more than 500 slot and video poker machines, table games and 58,000 square feet of gaming space.

The Wildwood property includes the 67-room Gold King Inn. A new 102-room hotel tower adjacent to the casino is under construction.

At 9,593 feet of elevation, Wildwood is the “highest casino in the world,” according to CEO Joseph Canfora, of the American Gaming Group, which owns the property.
