Broncos fans all over Colorado can now put down money on legal betting markets for the first time. A Broncos win total boost is available just in time for the historic day. It could make futures markets on the 2020-21 NFL season more enticing.
Sportsbooks aren’t that optimistic about Denver’s win-loss record for the coming campaign. If the Broncos defy those expectations, however, those who took advantage of this boost will enjoy an extra pleasant surprise.
Details on the Broncos win total boost for CO bettors
DraftKings, which launched its CO online sportsbook today, is the home of this boost. To take advantage of it, you must have a valid account at DraftKings Sportsbook and physically be within the borders of CO when you access the markets.
If you’ve already registered with DraftKings Sportsbook in another state, you can sign in with your existing credentials. If you’ve played daily fantasy games at DraftKings but not yet used the sportsbook, you can use your existing credentials to start your registration process.
You need to put down a bet on the over on Denver’s win total for the 2020-21 NFL season. Currently, the DraftKings line sits at 6.5 games with odds of -305. The boost keeps the line the same but raises the odds to +100.
By comparison, other regulated sportsbooks in the US have the Broncos season win total at 7.5 at -110 odds.
You are not eligible for the boost if you access DraftKings Sportsbook anywhere but Colorado or after 11:59 p.m. ET on May 5. Using the Broncos win total as part of any parlay also makes your bet ineligible for the boost.
If you cash your bet out early, it becomes ineligible for the boost. The same applies if you wager more than $50 on the market. You may not use free bet credit to make this wager. New users can combine their $25 registration promotion with this boost, however.
This limited-time offer makes the 6.5 win line more palatable for Broncos fans. The next question, however, may be whether seven wins is something Denver can accomplish in the coming NFL season.
Could the Broncos really win seven or more games this fall?
Of course, this is largely a matter of opinion, especially at this juncture. The NFL has yet to release its schedule for 2020-21, although all indications point toward that dropping on Saturday, May 9. At that point, it will be easier to size up the Broncos’ chances in this market.
We do know all of Denver’s opponents for the upcoming season right now, however. Outside of facing the rest of the AFC West division twice, the Broncos play all the NFC South teams, all the AFC East teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Tennessee Titans.
Out of those games, it’s easy to pick out six wins. There are a lot of unknown quantities that make the seventh win a risk, however. Questions that CO bettors considering this market need to ask themselves include:
- How much do I believe in the Los Angeles Chargers without Phillip Rivers?
- Repeat the same as above in regards to the New England Patriots and Tom Brady
- Speaking of Brady, does he make the Tampa Bay Buccaneers clearly superior to Denver?
- Do I believe the Broncos can steal a win on the home fields of the Atlanta Falcons or Carolina Panthers?
Many CO bettors could answer these questions in the affirmative over the coming days and take up DraftKings up on this offer. If Denver cooperates with those bettors’ hopes, it could make them hitting the over all the more enjoyable.
